October is mystery month!

Suspense, mystery, and gripping plots are all elements of mysteries. Students will be learning about the genre of mysteries in the month of October. Students will be engaged in intriguing mystery stories and activities. I recommend the following mysteries to read: Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, Sammy Keyes by Wendelin Van Draanen, Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy series, and a new mystery called Eleven by Patricia Reilly Giff. Let's make a mystery "to read list." Students...what mystery books do you recommend other students to read? (Student feedback welcomed!)

Students will get to check out mystery books during a mystery book pass. Every night students will read their mystery for twenty minutes every night. By reading every night, students will be entertained by a good book and earn a reward coupon from "Pizza Hut Book-It" program. Parents, please verify reading at night by signing a reading log. I will check the reading log every Monday. Students, set a goal....How many books are you going to read in the month of October? (Student feedback welcomed!)

What do you know about the mystery genre? (Student feedback welcomed!)

Well what are you waiting for? Let's get reading!! Mrs. Wells

I can't find a good book right now. I looked in the library and all over my "library" in my house and I still can't find a book I like. I liked one called Jemma Extrodanire but the author only has one other book and I can't find it anywhere. :)
