January

In January, students are reading nonfiction about animals and the Revolutionary War time period. Also, students will read about significant people in history who have contributed to society. Hopefully, these role models will inspire us at Pfeiffer to achieve in life and be the best we can be. What would you like to do when you grow up? How would you like to help society? Who do you admire in history? (Feedback welcomed).

After reading the novel, Tarantula in My Purse, we wrote to the famous author, Jean Craighead George. We are waiting patiently to hear back from her. Our next writing essay will be an autobiography project of ourselves to give to our parents. We will set writing goals for the rest of the year. What is your writing goal? (Feedback welcomed).

The genre, nonfiction, presents us with so many opportunities to learn. We challenge you to learn about something new today for enrichment. Be willing to share the information with the class! What are some of your favorite nonfiction topics? (Feedback welcomed).

Please join us for the Winter Carnival on Friday, January 27th! Hope to see you at conferences on February 14th and 16th!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mrs. Wells
